Hyspan designs and manufactures a comprehensive selection of products for Commercial and HVAC pipe motion applications in district energy, building new construction, university distributed energy, municipal support, military facilities, building modernization, and other sites.
Most applications involve absorbing thermal expansion or contraction; however, other applications involve seismic isolation, vibration isolation, relative motion compensation for building settlement, and flow measurement.
For more than a half-century, we have designed, engineered, manufactured, tested, and acquired various expansion joint technologies. This unique and extensive experience provides Hyspan exceptional capabilities in this critical industry.
Hyspan’s complete line of products includes metal bellows expansion joints, packed expansion joints, ball joints, metal hoses, and accessory products such as pipe guides and flow measurement venturis.
Sizes range from 3/4” (19mm) through 20’ (6m). Complete metal bellows and hose assemblies provided from 304/304L, 316/316L, and 321 flexible components. Additional metal bellows and hoses materials include Alloy 625, Alloy 718, Alloy C22, and Alloy C276. Flanges or pipe ends are available.
Often the product selected is a standard Hyspan configuration or an adaptation of a standard. Engineered expansion joints and hoses are available to meet specialized requirements and demanding customer specifications. Hyspan staff can meet challenging engineering problems and manage major contracts.
Hyspan is an ISO 9001:2015 registered company with a quality system that supports requirements of the piping and boiler pressure vessel codes. These include popular ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and ASME Section VIII Division 1 codes. Support for standards and codes including Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association (EJMA®), ASTM F1120, MIL-DTL-17813, European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) with CE markings, and Canadian Registration Number (CRN) are also available for many products.
Nondestructive testing and inspections are performed by company personnel including radiography. Quality personnel are certified to the standards of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT). Hyspan is a member of the Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association (EJMA®).
